About 70 journeymen, mechanics and electricians have completed their apprenticeship at Meitli - GT Tækni ehf.
The company has ISO 9001:2015 certification, certified welding processes and A and B accreditation in the electrical field. The company also has Equal Pay Certification ÍST 85:2012 and has been on the list of Excellent Companies since the beginning.

The beginning
The impetus for the establishment of a separate service company was the philosophy within Elkem ASA that each manufacturing company within that group should focus solely on its core business. Therefore, service for that business should be in the hands of those parties who made it their core business.
In April 2002, the company GT Tækni ehf. began its operations. The company was initially based on employees from the technical department of Íslenska járnblendifélagis hf. and there were 25 employees with diverse skills who started working for the new company. These were skilled industrial and technical workers, mechanics, electricians, automotive mechanics and electronics engineers who had decades of experience in new construction, renovation and installation of equipment, modifications, preventive maintenance and repairs of all kinds, warehouse management, purchasing and material sales.
In 2009, GT Technology ehf.'s operations were transferred to Meitil - GT Technology ehf.
